The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has banned a TV advert for the Toyota GT86 because it encouraged motorists to drive irresponsibly. But it seems the advert would “encourage motorists to drive irresponsibly” and “…was irresponsible and condoned dangerous driving”. Or at least it would according to the ASA, which made the ruling after being inundated with complaints about Toyota encouraging drivers to speed and be reckless.
Here's a tip: If you're going to have a rev battle with a collection of Lamborghini Aventador supercars, keep clear of flammable foliage. Better yet, don't participate in something lame like a rev battle. If you're in a part of the country that's recently been socked by winter weather, don't think you have to put away the classic car: Hagerty Insurance lists five old cars that make great winter drivers.

Welcome to the new Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback. Although this concept is badged Prototype-S, this is the five-door version of the latest Lancer, and it will be launched in autumn 2008. The concept, which will be shown at next week's Geneva Motor Show, is powered by the 237bhp turbocharged 2.0-litre from the Lancer Ralliart.
